Beautiful People Are Weird

Why beauty alone isn’t enough.

Iknow. How dare I suggest that beautiful people are emotionally challenged and slow?!

I see you. You’ve got your pitchforks raised and you’re ready to raise holy hell against me for even saying something like this.

Before you critique my piece, let’s agree to indulge in this generalization. Obviously all people aren’t anything. We know they aren’t monoliths. However, for this piece, “beautiful” people are.

I’m not here to do a think piece on societal standards of beauty juxtaposed between Eurocentric models nor am I discussing how men tend to cloud and pollute the lens of beauty for their own benefit. That’s for another time.

Now about these beautiful people. I am lucky enough to date a beautiful girl. How do I know? Well by conventional measures she’s deemed beautiful.

She’s dabbled in beauty contests as a youth and is frequently stopped by men who deem her attractive. Most importantly she never fails to tell me how beautiful she is and why I am so lucky.
