King Bogus, The Monarch, is Conquering the Rap Game and Elevating the Kingdom of Savannah.
Determined to represent Savannah, King Bogus has worked tirelessly to show the world what being from the 9er is all about.
Savannah is Georgia’s oldest city. Founded in 1732 by James Oglethorpe, the city’s history holds a special place in Georgia and the United States’ history. However, its music scene and, in particular, its rap scene hasn’t always been at the forefront of the conversation. Overshadowed by Georgia’s fifth capital, Atlanta, Savannah’s rich musical legacy, which includes artists like Big Boi, Nivea, and the late Camoflauge, is mentioned as an afterthought.
Thanks to the efforts of rappers like King Bogus the Monarch, founder of The9er record label, Savannah is slowly becoming a place people look towards for its rappers. Ever since he came on the rap scene, he’s been intentional about not only displaying his lyrical ability but also in how he frames Savannah’s black history.
