In life, you have two types of people which are those who allow their success to change them, and those whose success changes their friends’ lives. Randy “Doda” Reid is an example of the latter. As a producer, he’s crafted some of the culture’s most memorable hits with artists like Ace Hood and Jeezy, but you may have missed it because of how unassuming and approachable he is.
Ever since he began producing for Big Oomp Records in 2013, Doda’s been on a mission to make a name for himself and his city Hampton. Now more than anything, he wants to add his name to the list of brilliant producers and make his mother proud.
Born and raised in Hampton, Georgia, his family exposed him to music at an early age. Doda spoke on his start, saying, “I started playing the drums at 3. My dad was already in music, so when it got to me, I took a liking to it.”
