I clicked on a pixelated album cover with a silhouette of a woman and tried my luck. Forty-five minutes later I was smitten. Who was this mysterious person? Why had they chosen to withhold their identity?
I thought of the Weeknd and how for the longest he withheld his image. I figured she was trying to make a similar point.
Either way, it didn’t matter. What mattered was from that moment on, I had to learn more about who she was. It had been some time since I had felt this way about an artist. The last time I had genuinely felt like one of the first to find out about someone was J. Cole and for a little while Ari Lennox. Here was my chance with H.E.R.
